About the Role
As a Gate Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair automated gate systems and associated access control equipment. You will use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and low-voltage electrical systems to ensure secure and reliable perimeter access for commercial and residential clients.
Key Responsibilities
Install and repair gate operating systems and gates
Weld gates and/or operators into place
Wire and program operators
Install mechanical tracks and other gate hardware
Assemble gates and fasten into position
Assess site conditions to avoid existing utilities (electric/water lines)
Dig post holes using manual or powered tools
Mix and pour concrete around gate posts and pedestals
Construct and repair barriers
Read plans and blueprints to guide installation
Qualifications
2–5 years of relevant industry experience preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot various mechanical systems
Experience with low-voltage electrical systems
Welding skills
Backgrounds in garage/overhead door repair, mechanics, or low-voltage electrical work are highly valued
Ability to work independently and on a team in outdoor environments
Supervision
Reports to the Access Control Manager
