About the Opportunity
Epiroc Drilling Solutions, LLC is seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support heavy industrial manufacturing operations at the LaBounty facility in Two Harbors, MN.
This hands-on internship offers exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges and includes a summer-long project from planning through implementation. The role focuses on process improvement, fixture design, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage small-scale manufacturing projects throughout the internship
Identify and implement efficiency improvements in manufacturing processes
Assist with fixture and tooling design
Document procedures and recommend process enhancements
Support troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing issues
Participate in root cause analysis with cross-functional teams
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Design Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Support Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, and Quality departments
Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies
Attend required meetings and training sessions
Qualifications
Education:
Rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
Preferred Skills:
Mechanical aptitude
Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
Key Competencies:
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with precision and accuracy
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
