Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial management functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. This role supports executive leadership with financial reporting, forecasting, analytics, and strategic insights to drive operational excellence and long-term profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and analytics
Manage monthly and annual close processes
Provide proactive analysis and recommendations to the CFO
Lead budgeting, P&L analysis, cost accounting, and revenue analytics
Monitor debt levels and covenant compliance
Accounting & Controls
Direct general ledger operations and balance sheet integrity
Maintain and enhance accounting policies and internal controls
Oversee ERP systems (Ross preferred), fixed assets, and capex tracking
Ensure reconciliation of all accounts and financial systems
Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts
Cash, Risk & Compliance
Manage cash flow and risk management processes
Coordinate internal and external audits
Oversee state, local, and federal reporting requirements
Manage tax compliance, property tax appraisals, and government filings
Liaise with insurance brokers and carriers
Operational Oversight
Direct payroll, garnishments, deductions, and employee receivables
Oversee accounts receivable, credit approvals, collections, and DSO management
Lead accounts payable operations and process improvements
Provide financial leadership for SG&A expense management
Support internal and external executive presentations
Team Leadership
Develop and lead a high-performing finance team
Provide dotted-line functional oversight for HR and IT in coordination with corporate shared services
Foster strong cross-functional collaboration across departments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
CPA and/or CMA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
ERP system experience (Ross preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience in manufacturing or food production environments preferred
Ability to work onsite in the Greater Seattle area
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Manual dexterity for computer and calculator use
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
